The RE:VIVE Europe Blended Intensive Programme (BIP) is fundamentally designed to explore and rethink the viability of low-density territories as drivers of sustainable development and innovation. This international programme invites participants from across Europe to engage in academic reflection, field immersion, and collaborative design. Hosted by ESTGOH, one of Portugal’s dynamic small higher education schools, the programme challenges participants to work in multidisciplinary and multicultural teams to address the core theme: "Sparsely populated areas and their hinterlands: how designing the future of low-density territories?". The Core Challenge and Context Low-density territories, particularly those surrounding small cities (with populations under 25,000 residents), face persistent structural challenges, including progressive depopulation, demographic ageing, the fragility of basic services, and distance from decision-making centres. Nevertheless, the programme posits that these regions represent unique opportunities for alternative development models, where tradition can successfully meet creativity. Participants are tasked with developing strategic and spatial proposals that revitalise these low-density regions.

The programme encourages participants to pursue several critical objectives:

1. Territorial Revitalisation and Resilience

2. Resource Valuation

3. Planning and Policy Ideas

4. Creative Solutions

5. European Models of Sustainability
